HERS-certified QII inspections verifying that insulation was installed correctly per California Title 24. A passing QII unlocks significant energy compliance credits — same-day filing included.
A Quality Insulation Installation (QII) inspection is a third-party HERS/ECC verification that insulation was installed correctly — no gaps, no compression, proper coverage, and the right R-values throughout. It goes beyond simply checking that insulation is present.
When a project passes QII, California Title 24 allows the building to take credit for improved insulation performance. This can unlock compliance for projects that might otherwise fall short, or reduce the need for other energy efficiency measures. Roo's Ratings performs QII inspections with same-day certificate filing through CHEERS.
QII inspections must be completed before drywall is closed up. We verify every insulated assembly in the building — walls, ceilings, floors, and attics — for proper installation per the approved plans and Title 24 requirements.
Checks for full coverage, proper R-value, no compression, and correct vapor barrier placement in all exterior and partition walls.
Verifies attic insulation depth, coverage, and proper blocking at eave vents. Checks for wind baffles and no compression at edges.
Inspects floor insulation in raised-floor construction for proper support, coverage, and R-value where required by Title 24.
Passing inspections are filed with CHEERS the same day. A HERS/ECC certificate is issued for your project records and permit close-out.
Don't close up the walls before your QII is complete. Call us for fast scheduling and same-day filing.
